Terrell Williams works with BUILD to support neighborhoods with developers, trained by BUILD, made contact through Make Space. Explained the necessity for training of leaders to go into community to obtain changes the community would like to see. Neighborhood associations and organizations provide ideas for these changes. Mr. Williams mentioned how Johnson Square just opened a new library and apartment building. Jose asked what do you have to do to be a leader. Go to training and know the leader will act. Mr. Williams said that community has to engage with developer with things they want to see. He mentioned that homeowers were given $75,000 to fix their property to keep up with newly constructed housing.
Sarah Kunchunger a nurse from Community Engagement Center is retiring. She will advise who her successor will be.
Camille Edwards is from Friends of Carroll Park. A discussion was had about a crossing from Mount Clare into Carroll Park. It was mentioned that this was discussed on several occasions in the past and since B&O owns property we cannot cross over the tracks and were told to build a walking bridge over the property. Camille said that voices can make a change and we have to make our voices heard to the right persons to get our crossing into Park.
Ben Senkus parks on lots on 200 block of Vincent St, had his truck vandalized parked on McHenry.
Jose is originally from Houston!
Nancy MCCC tried to get crossing for years B&O would only allow walking bridge.
