General grants for almost any neighborhood improvement.

BGE Comunity Safety Grant
$2500-$10000 closes May 16th

Fairly general, targeting safe & vibrant, emotional well-being, disaster preparedness and resilience projects.

Chesapeke Bay Trust Outreach and Restoration Ends August 21st

Baltimore Digital Equity Fund June 1st? → July 10th?

  • Older adult digital literacy education
  • Digital literacy tech hubs at recreation centers in undeserved areas
  • Skills training for residents seeking an IT career, must earn IT certs
  • Education and programming for creative works and makerspaces at recreation centers

DHCD Community Catalyst
August 18th → October 3rd

  • Up to 200k to eligible 501c3s, requires orgs that have operating budgets of 100k or more though or to have a fiscal partner.
  • General reinvestment development funding.

State Grants

Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative

Extremely general grant that can apply to almost anything that is specific to BRNI districts like Southwest.

MD DHCD Community Health and Safety Works April?

  • Placemaking
    • Public art, murals (incl in right of way)
    • Performance Spaces
    • Public amenities - seating, planters, shade, signs, bike racks

    • Funded the Pratt + Gilmor parklet and mural in 2019 via SWP
  • Environmental Health and Justice
    • Stop illegal dumping
    • Stop littering
    • Stop high speed traffic hazards (pedestrian safety)
    • Mitigate urban heat island
    • Mitigate other climate change consequences (greening)
    • Transit stop enhancements - cans, lighting, signage

Targets safety improvements for communities with hate crime vulnerable populations - Mount Clare is highly qualified for our muslim, hispanic, and black populations.
