The meeting started out with a prayer from Steve Fleck
Daniel Dexter was to be present from Organization of Hope but was not present (he is coming to October meeting)
David Warren reported on the back to school party at Union Square to give out school supplies. September 28 is the date 0 4 pm until 7 pm
Major Conaway is the new commander of the Southern District. He took complaints from the community and talked about the issues concerning drugs, prostitutes and shootings. They have used the shot spotters which is helpful in locating shootings. He can be reached at byron.conaway@baltimorepolice.org.
Romona Brown is in real estate and she reported on home ownership – credits, grants, certificates. There are two workshops per month. The first one is for first time homeowners and the second is for people who are already homeowners.
Kintira reported on the Pratt and Gilmor sign and landscaping. The Welcome to Mount Clare sign is to be installed on October 3. We are part of the Baltimore Light City and will be celebrated on Nov. 2 from 5:30 to 9 PM. Our theme is Bloom a Celebration of Life . Our Toy Store is scheduled for December 8.
Our next meeting is Nov. 25 at which time we will have our Thanksgiving social during the meeting. Please inform us as to what you will bring.

The meeting started with a prayer by Steve Fleck.
Jennifer Kunz from Clean Water Action did a presentation on sewage backup and what can be done and where to contact for sewage contact in basements. It happens more than you now and many do not report it.
Sgt. Simpson and Off. Perry reported on events in community. 229 S Vincent had drug dealers arrested. 1557 Cole Street was reported to BDP as a vacant house being used to house drug dealers and a selling of used goods which are scattered all over the steps and property.
Romona Brown – Real estate agent – talked about homeowners class to be held at the Faith Center on Nov. 16 from 10-11 am.
Kintira gave a report of the clean up an dumpster to be located at 420 S Mount Street. She also talked about our Bloom: a Celebration of Life event on Nov. 2 which was a part of the Baltimore City Lights (we were included in one of the Neighborhood Lights events).
Curtis Eaddy discussed the Toy Store on Dec. 8 from 1 pm to when all toys are sold. We need 32 volunteers (9 volunteers are coming from Church of Nativity. We will need 32 volunteers. Seven items per family will be the limit for toys they can purchase. April Census begins April 1, 2020.

Natasha Neale introduced herself to Council as we were awarded a Love Your Block grant for the two lots at end of 400 Block of S. Gilmor St.
Shannon Craig, RN told us about a Christmas Event to be held – Charm City Christmas on Dec. 7, 1029.
Councilwoman Shannon Sneed stopped bv to say hello and about her campaign.
Matt Auchammer from the Liquor Board passed out information about Liquor Board and asked questions and concerns from Council.
Tony Scott from SWP discussed all the recent fires in our area and to be vigilant to report vacants that need to be boarded up or persons living in them.
The rest of the meeting was enjoyed by all in partaking of our yearly Thanksgiving dinner and giving thanks for all we have accomplished throughout the year.

The meeting started with a prayer by Ron Timpson.
Wheelbrator showed a presentation and spoke on community cleanups and recycling.
Jeff LaNoue is now our city planner. He discussed new building code enforcement. He told us the importance of the 2020 census. If is not counted the city loses $1800 per person. Home ownership zones can be found at codemap.com.
Tyrone Roper from criminal justice talked about CEC support and accountability.
Ramona Love told us up upcoming homeowners class in English and Spanish for Feb. 8 and 22, 2020.
Dwayne Hess told us Clay Pots is having a meeting about 2020 census and jobs available. They are on Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon.
Tyler Gray told us about the services for homeless with the medical van that is in Mount Clare on Mondays.

Meeting started with a prayer from Ron Timpson
Carlos Sanchez-Gonzales and Shasawanda Campbell spoke about the incinerator problem in City and compost training. They are forwarding a draft letter to Council regarding the incinerator situation for us to review.
Lou Packett from Southwest Partnership spoke of the project called Listening Campaign – a means of creating relationships with neighbors. Volunteers go into neighborhoods of the SWP and find our what concerns persons have relating to their neighborhood. There are almost 400 volunteers from Church of Nativity willing to help with this project. Lou has reached out to congregations for volunteers. He is also looking for a manager from each of the seven neighborhoods to oversee the project for their neighborhood. They would receive a stipend for doing this. A question was brought up if door knocking was the only means to gather the information. Could their be an event?
Kintira mentioned the Community Walk which is Friday, May 28, 2021 at 8 PM starting at 401 S. Stricker Street. City agencies will be involved.
Kintira has attended several virtual meetings: City Budget Committee for 2022; Carroll Park Vision; Behavioral Health Consent Decree; Southwestern Police meeting.
Should we start in-person meetings or stay virtual. For now we will stay virtual and revisit the matter at the end of the year.
Officer Wilson gave his report on our community’s crime status: The highest is in homicides and non-fatalities. Violence is high. Also Major is working on a plan concerning drug dealers and the high crime they produce. Dirt bikes are a problem again. Since police cannot chase them, the police helicopter follows them to where they are stored and then confiscate them.
Jose was asked to give a report regarding Southwest Board of Directors meeting – he said there was nothing to report.
Jose took registration for the COVID vaccination clinic at the Faith Center - they vaccinated 70 people from the community. The clinic will be held there until the end of June.
