These are my streetmix designs for streets. All streets in Mount Clare have 40’ road beds (including Fulton and Pratt), so they are all functionally interchangeable.
First up are the concepts for the Pratt St active mobility facility and accompanying bus stop redesigns it would require - the bus stops are meant to enable passing a stopped bus if nothings in the parking lane to the left.
Carey St has a partial active mobility track under the bridge, and could be extended both ways to Herkimer and Pratt without losing the turn lane or curb parking.
Woodyear St is a terrible width and is two way designated despite not being wide enough for cars in both directions. The western sidewalk is also way narrower than the eastern one for no good reason. It can be converted into a northbound one way with way wider sidewalks on the west side.
We have no streets planned to have diagonal parking yet, but this is what it would look like. The extra 2’ gaps on each side are room for future sidewalk widening to expand modern 6’ tree pits into.
If you don’t want any of the above features on any of our two way streets, the sidewalks can be widened substantially, if the roads were converted one way in order to calm traffic. The sidewalks would be wide enough to enable shops to have outdoor seating or residents to have their own seating or personal gardens in the front. The single travel lane is made wide enough to try to accommodate passing an illegally stopped vehicle if the parking lane is empty.
